As is typical of Crama Oprisor, this bottle is a testament to the customs and beliefs that still live on in Oltenia.
The motifs on the label – taken from a traditional Oltenian carpet – represent yet another local belief: Jiana, fairy of the place, shows herself to the thirsty people who toil for the wealth and fruit of the earth. To those with an appetite for liquor, the beautiful apparition satisfies their thirst with the living water with which she feeds the tree of life, the source of all things and protector of every earthling. Blessed are those on whom Jiana drips the sap of the tree of life, for its roots spring from the very pure heart of the earth.
Jiana, the memorable rose of the Oprişor Winery, knits contrasts and synergies. To the refined intensity of the pale pink nuance is added the fresh inviting aromas of white cherries, peaches and mangoes. Wine’s ideal acidity, well integrated into an elegant, slightly creamy structure, with notes of early cherries, spice and vanilla. The moderated alcohol percentage and persistent finish makes this wine a perfect companion on any summer day.
Recommended serving temperature: 8ºC – 10ºC. Great combination with seafood.
Full maceration & fermentation process in stainless steel jacket tanks. After maceration and pressing, the clean juice was racked to fermentation tank for a period of 13 days at 13-15ºC. The final wine was kept on fine lees for 26-28 days with several batonnage rounds once in 6 days.
